Ego is a range
Ego is not a fixed entity but a range of identification across experience. It expands and contracts depending on context, desire, fear, and psychological investment.
This range is fundamentally horizontal, meaning all egoic movement occurs within the same structural plane of identification.
The error arises when ego interprets variation within this range as vertical transformation. A shift in intensity—more success, more knowledge, more discipline—is mistaken for elevation.
But no matter how wide the range becomes, it does not escape its own structure
